Cyanotype is a photographicprinting process that gives a cyan-blue print. The process was popular in engineering circles well into the 20th century. The simple and low-cost process enabled them to produce large-scale copies of their work, referred to as blueprints.
I done this in class, I used my keys, grass, film tape and money .
This is my cyanotype, we did these outside. first we got our cyanotype paper then we had to place our items on the paper then we left them till the paper was white and after we had to place the water in water then we left them to dry and this is how they turned out.
The advantages of cyanotypes?
The advantages of Cyanotypes are that the paper is quite cheap to buy, this process is relatively easy to use and you do not need to use any complicated equipment. I think this is why so many artist are starting to use cyanotypes more because they can make images that look different and unusual.
Anna Atkins
Anna Atkins learned directly from Talbot about two of his inventions related to photography: the "photogenic drawing" technique (in which an object is placed on light-sensitized paper which is exposed to the sun to produce an image)
This is one of Anna Atkins famous cyanotypes, this was in part of Anna Atkins book in 1843. I like this Cyanotype because it is different, you cant really see what it is but that is why it is interesting. When i first saw this Cyanotype i thought it look a little like sea weed or some sort of plant.
