Final Evaluation
For unit 2 I chose street photography. We got to chose from 7 themes which were: street photography, edges, texture, fragments, futurism, disguise and openings. Street photography was one of the hardest choices out of the 7, it did not put me off doing it though because I thought that I would be able to cope. I also liked the thought of going out and taking pictures out of school and seeing how they turn't out. I chose to use my mobile phone to take pictures because I wanted to be a little secretive when I was taking the pictures because if people knew that I was taking a picture they might of posed or looked away, but when they do not know the pictures look more real and they are more interesting. My ideas have developed since I first started street photography, they have developed by looking at different street photography artists. One of the street photography artists I have looked at is Robert Frank and the book he made which is The Americans. When looking at Robert Frank it gave me so many ideas about street photography were as before I did not really understand about all the different techniques that they have to use. Another artist I looked at was Joel Meyerowitz, I liked Joel Meyerowitz street photography work because most of his images are about things that you would not normally see when just walking through the street, he has captured things that people are never going to really see on a day to day basis. During the process I had to decide on a way of displaying my street photography images that I had been out to take. I took an interest in the book The Americans, I think this helped me to make a decision on how I wanted to display my own work. The book The Americans was set out in a certain way that is like a song, it has four choruses and each one starts off with a image of the american flag.
