ChemigramsWhat are chemigrams? chemigrams are picture made out of light and chemicals, they do not need a camera also they images are part of Abstraction because they do not have subjects here are some examples of chemigrams:
Pierre CordierPierre Cordier is famous for his creations of Chemigrams. Pierre Cordier was interested in jazz music even when he was younger and it has been reflected into his work.

We made chemigams in shcool. To make chemigrams you have to have a light room or even a dark room but either one the chemigrams come out good either way. We made chemigrams in school we was in a light room and we had three chemicals we used a paint brush a spunge and tissue to make different patterns on the photographic paper, they came out really nice whilst they was being exposed to the light but when we put them in the chemicals they changed but they still looked really different. Everyones was different in the class some of them were really light and the others where darker then some for example some of them was a light pinky yellowy and some are brown, gray and black.

This is my own chemigram, I made this last week in class, I like this on the best because it was the most thought out. Also I like this one because it has more detail then the others. These images change colour all the time, for example when I made this chemigram it did not look like this it was more brighter, the colours where oink as well but now because I left it for the hole week it had come more dull and black an white.
These are some examples of developed and refine my work, these was on the theme of abstraction.
This is the chosen image.

I cropped the image so that it was square, and i rotated it.
Then the image got edited.
Then created a cyanotype.
This is the final image, that has been reversed in photoshop to make a negative.
|
I then printed the image out on to acetate paper.
|
I then had to put cyanotype paper under neath the acetate paper and put it in the sun for around 10-20 minutes.

Sutcliffe park.
We took a trip to Sutcliffe park and our task was to take pictures of things that were abstract. I decided to base my pictures on nature and so I took a series of images with an iPod.
This is one of my favourite picture, this is because I like the way you can not see the green of the leafs. I done this by taking the picture on the side where the sun was facing me. If I had taken the picture on the other side it would of come out like some of the others, were you can see the colours. I prefer the image this way because it makes it different from other images.

Eliot Porter
Elliot Porter inspired me in these pictures.
I took these pictures in school. When I was taking the pictures I was thinking about Eliot Porters work and how he had a range of colours in his work.
Final piece:
These are some of the cyanotypes that I have been making. When I first started making cyanotypes I did not really know what I was doing. My technique has improved over the course of the year. Cyanotypes are very unpredictable they all come out differently, some of the cyanotypes will come out clear, were some others will come out blurry where the wind has moved the acetate
This is part of my final piece, I have made 7 cyanotypes so far.
